Carmina Burana is a ballet cantata, with music by Carl Orff, and set to texts written by 13th century monks who adored the basic pleasures of life and believed that the goddess of fortune had complete control over the availability of these enjoyments.

Carmina Burana is a valuable look into our bawdy past, and perhaps a looking glass for our own time.

Ballet Spartanburg and its programs are supported in part by The Arts Partnership of Greater Spartanburg and its donors, the County and City of Spartanburg, and the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
