card tacked to the back of the frame indicates that the painting was entered
in the Thirtieth Annual North Shore Arts Exhibition of Gloucester in 1952.
It also
confirms for us that some things never change; it reminds the entrants
that “Work by members whose dues are unpaid will not be exhibited.”
