Butler
King Couper, Jr.
circa 1935, Charleston, S.C.
oil on canvas.
This is
a portrait of the artists’ son, King.
King took a strong interest in his mother’s work and catalogued
many pieces after her death. Couper’s diaries, sketches and other
memorabilia exist today primarily due to King’s love for her art.
